I'm going to keep this as one of those short entries. Ive been super busy with work lately and quite frankly... I'm exhausted. Recent events have consisted of Campaign, Sandworm, Dark Ixion, Tiamat, Dynamis, Odin and a few KSNM99s



Odin was pretty generous with his last drop pool, to me at least. W body, A hands, P body and Valhalla Breastplate dropped on our last run. Leostrife was going to be lotting the Valhalla alone, but he was kind enough to let me lot along side him. Fortunately for me I lotted a 654; Leo lotted a 635... it was pretty nerve racking. Special thanks to leostrife for allowing me to lot alongside him, i seriously appreciate the kindness.



Also me and 4 other people went along and farmed up an entire Beadeux (S) SCNM pop set in about 3 hours a little bit ago. Unfortunately nothing dropped from that.



Me and 5 others 6-manned KSNM99 wyrm. Also nothing of importance dropped from this.

Then finally we did a sandworm here and there. Our most recent one netted us about 6.5M worth of sellables. Sweet shit.



I will leave you guys with an update on Aegis. I recently loaned Drace 2 L jade shells so he could complete is Spharai. So once he pays me back Ill have 2 less 100 bynes and 2 more L jades since he let me have the 100 bynes as collateral(totally unnecessary).

Huge congratulations to ProjectLTC on killing PW tonight ^_^ We killed it with about 15 minutes left on the clock. Very big thanks to everyone who helped out with the fight. Congratulations to Tordall, Dantaro and Leto on their respected drops. We look forward to taking this guy down again. Once you do it once, you can do it again and again! :D



I was one of three tanks that were on PW for the first 9 forms of the 1 hour and 45 minute battle. Berdysh and Reznap were the other two tanks that took a part in doing what seemed to be just a few weeks ago, impossible. This was our 3rd pop, third times a charm amirite? The first pop netted us a 84% Final Form time out. The second one we popped timed out at around 70%. After tweeking our strategy to fit our play styles and just plain getting used to the fight, we have finally defeated one of the most challenging obstacles in the game.



I dont know what else to say really besides I am incredibly ecstatic to be a part of something like this. Not many linkshells have the potential of taking on such a task. To be a part of one of the few that can do it, i am truly honored.



In between our zergs on the final form we had Blue mages Sneak Attack Cannonball to keep PWs regen low, and even take out a small chunk of his HP. It took us 5 zergs to take PW from 100%-0% final form; and nearly 30 minutes total.



My job during the zergs (along with berdysh) was to call a time and pull the lamps aside to give the zergers a chance to whack at PW. It may look like im doing nothing in the screenshots... but unfortunately taking action shots was a little out of the question considering my job. Berdysh and I rotated lamp sacking based on the Zerg alliance that was ready to begin their attack.



I dont want to beat the dead horse and bore you with more talking so im just about to dump the last screenshots on you. Once again, huge congratulations to Tordall, Dantaro and Leto on their drops. I look forward to our next kill!

As promised, here it is! I have finally come to finish my maat's cap! I have been working on this rigorously for about 3 or 4 months now. I guess the work has payed off ^_^. For some god awful reason i left the red mage fight for last. Here is a screeny of the final nuke of the fight, leading to the completion of my maat's cap!

Finally, the job list. Good lord this has come a long way... If you look at my job list from the like... 2nd entry in this LJ you can see how far I've come from now to then. I feel like I've truely accomplished something big in this game.



BUT. With new accomplishments come new goals. new... LONG term goals. Ive come to the decision to seriously put an effort towards Aegis. Ive sold my dusk gloves +1 recently to have some cash to go towards it. Here is my current progress, with plenty more gil to go towards it. I cant really expand much on sandworm besides the fact that we've done ALOT of him recently, racking in a nice chunk of gil to the LS bank and getting a few people items that theyve wanted for a while. (Congrats to Fran and Arto on B tathlum!) Ive been playing with photoshop on my screenshots, i hope you enjoy it haha. Notice the kick ass blurr effect to make my sandworm look long and hard(lol)!



I also totally forgot about this little gem ^. Got it the week I received my hydra haubert actually. I am currently 3/5 on the hydra set now, pretty exciting. Man i still cant believe i got that haubert, its one of those items that you just never expect to get.

I also made a new signature for the BG forums and LS website forums because of these two new items, they just look too damned cool together! hehe here it is:



What else... oh yeah, lets just say; 17 Man odin wassup? Everytime we low man odin i feel like we cant do it with any less.. and then we do it with less lol. The add team was made up of these two fine gentlemen:



Yeah... it was pretty insane haha. To say the least our efforts were not rewarded and we got the shittiest loot pool ive seen off odin thus far. Lets see what you think!

I dont want to spoil much, but Ive started a new long term goal and I am comming to the end of an old long term goal of mine. Ive done many many things in the past month, some of it includes Odin x2, Jorm, Vrtra, Tiamat, Sandworm, Ixion... ZNMs holy shit so much.... Dynamis haha i could keep going really. But thats mostly what ill be talking about sooo here we go!





First off, about an hour ago we just finished another Odin. This Yielded us M and H legs and a Wbody... along with my new toy: Valkyrie's Fork ^_^ Im very excited about this since ive wanted it basically since Odin was announced. Dragoon is my first job to 75 and it is fun to see how its progressed over the years....without me even really trying to gear it.





Next on the list is something ive always wanted to try but never really... did it. Vrtra, Tiamat and Jorm in the course of 1 week :D This was incredibly fun... a nice change of pace. I dont have any screenshots of Tiamat but Jorm I went to as Summoner and Vrtra i was Summoner for half the fight and then helped tank the last 50%. Tanking Vrtra was a blast and i look forward to doing it again! Drops were pretty mediocre but hey, im playing for fun now so i got what i was looking for.

Something unexpected dropped into my loot pool about a week or two ago. We ended up doing a Dynamis-Tavnazia due to lack of attendance for Xarc and because i rolled a 10 versus a competing linkshell that wanted the zone. We ended up getting a few drops, one of which were THF AF2 hands. Which i acquired. Lv66thf ftw haha





Also I recently finished my Sarameya pop. This also helped me get a piece of gear I have been neglecting for some time. Aurumn Sabotons on my warrior.. bringing it that much closer to being complete. Minus a Speed Belt and Hecatomb Cap +1 Id say its nearly done.

So the update just happened and everyone is all hyped up about the new mini expansion and what it may entail! To my disappointment it entailed farming 8 key items in old zones off beastmen and running to the top of delkfutts tower at lv 30 cap. yay.



So I went and did that, for the reward i chose to get the ranger body. +10 ranged accuracy and +5 to snapshot. Pretty bawlin' piece of gear. Thats all im going to type up about it since overall it was incredibly short, so i figured I would type up an equal proportion to what they gave me.



My linkshell got Odin access again and we proceeded to kill it with a mere 22 people. Pretty impressive in my opinion. Just goes to show you what can be done when everyone isnt holding their dick and waiting for the next order. Congratulations to Berdysh on Vahalla Body, Noelani on A abjuration body and Cyfer on M abjuration body! So far the linkshell is on a 9 running einherjar win streak!



Maats cap status: I brought my beastmaster up to level 57. Getting closer.





Some luck with salvage as well (or lack of maybe?) I lotted a 219 on the hikazu Hara-ate... but never-the-less congratulations to Francisco on being 5/5 on usukane! Also congratulations to Hyriu on getting the 35 for your Marduk Feet.

Ive been quite busy and have alot of screenshots to load up into this bitch. Sorry if i keep the typing to a minimum but I dont really have that much to say other than I have been doing alot of stuff recently haha. Going to start off by saying congratulations to Jork on his Velocious belt, finally. Also a special thanks to ProjectLTC to letting me join their linkshell! Its been very fun so far and Im looking forward to how things pan out from here on.



I geuss ill start off with my maats cap progress, as you can see Ive taken beastmaster and Blackmage up a few levels since my last entry. Blackmage has been a complete bitch to solo, I pretty much hate the job right now. Ran Beastmaster through a few summoner burns (I seriously cant beleive they didnt patch this in the last update) and got it to level 49 pretty quickly. Other than that I have been working on my gear for my warrior and thats about it as far as jobs go.



Recently i got my hands on a Cerberus Mantle +1 and Dusk Gloves +1, pretty big upgrades to say the least; Ive enjoyed the results though. Also I have now brought my great axe merits to 8/8. Right now I am looking to get a Warrior's Stone, Fortitude Torque (this will be cool for pld too) Hecatomb Cap +1, Velocious Belt and Aurumn Sabotons. Once I get those items my warrior will be looking pretty Diesel.

A few fun events I have been participating in with my new Linkshell have consisted of Dynamis, Einherjar, Sandworm and a ZNM here and there. Since I joined this linkshell I have witnessed it go 6/6 on einherjar wins and also got an Odin win in between. We will be fighting Odin again on saturday. I am seriously looking forward to this, I love the Odin fight so much. ProjectLTC seriously knows how to roll in Einherjar. Also we have done 2 Dynamis-Tavnazias recently; which i have been able to attend both of. our drops Blew off the most recent one (tonights tav) but at least i was able to see these drop ^_^



In between ProjectLTC events I have been camping King Artho as well. Myself, Jork and Ems have been going after this NM pretty religiously. I have personally claimed this guy with my controller twice (and you know why im specifying my controller, im back on alexander after all)which is a pretty awesome feeling. I have not seen a belt drop off this NM in jugner forest since we have camped it... the one day I am camping sandworm Jork picks up a claim from someone wiping at 20%, finishes it off and gets his belt. Huge congratulations to him!



But, the same day (1-2hrs after even) Jork got his belt we ended up claiming sandworm and got thrown into the Battlefield with King Artho... Needless to say 2 belts within 2 hours is pretty amazing.





The next day we claimed another Sandworm, and i beleive we claimed the next one after that as well but i was unable to attend due to school. I was able to tank SW:Serket again, which was very fun. I do have to say although im getting a nice break from pld by being able to play warrior so much... pld is still my favorite job in this game.





Besides what Ive mentioned so far, im sure im forgetting tons of things that I have done since my last real entry, but Ill end with random screenshots that I low manned with my new linkshell. I will keep this post short and sweet due to the nature of it. After 5 years of playing this game it comes to a complete hault. After accomplishing so much in this game I dont see myself ever comming back to it. It seems I was a bit too obvious on Alexander with my King Artho claims and the GMs called me out on it. Seems a bit odd considering my history. Anyway, as i said earlier I want to make this short. So thanks to everyone that helped me over the course of my FFXI career and gl to those who are still playing.

Hi again guys! It has once again been quite some time since my last live journal entry, and for this i will apologize! Basically I'll just go ahead and sum up a few things that have happened since my last journal entry. Unfortunately (but maybe fortunately), on an unseen turn of events I have once again found myself on the server of Alexander. This came to be through a series of events that lead me to leave (as in I was not kicked, contrary to popular belief, i know its a very hard concept to understand for some.) the linkshell I was leading; named Vicious LS on the server lakshmi. I will be very blunt about it and just say, I have never come to meet so many two faced people in my life... (/end bias comments) It hurts to leave but it was for the better, I wish them luck on their future King Vinegarroon kills.

ANYWAY, now that's over... I have come to find that Alexander has changed quite a bit since the last time I was on it. Not /as much/ pointless name calling, E-peen stretching and general pussy footing. It is actually quite a relief to be on this server. I have found it easy to occupy myself and am finally finding a few people I may eventually be able to call my friends. Before i transferred over I applied to a linkshell named PorjectLTC, which is a very profound end game linkshell that kicks ass in einherjar and basically everything they end up doing. I have participated in Einherjar, Dynamis and a few ZNMs with them so far; I'll just say I am a little more than impressed with how they function.



In the dynamis run i went with them on we entered in with about 23 people and were able to farm alot without -any- wipes and took down DL with ease. DL yielded some pretty nice loot too! Congrats berdysh on the shadow ring. From what I can see right now it is very well deserved. Like I said to him when it dropped, that ring is fire!



Aside from tagging along on events with ProjectLTC until I am pearled this coming Saturday, I have been shouting for pick up groups for Nyzul isle. Recently I was able to push for 5/5 askar, which i am pretty pleased about.





Besides that, I have been basically just chilling out and relaxing. I have also been working on maats cap jobs so i can eventually achieve this strenuous goal of mine. This final screenshot should explain everything you need to know about that. Well, thats it for this update. Now that I have a linkshell again (or about to have a new linkshell) I can assure there will be many plump updates to come in the near future! Good night everyone >:)

So its been quite some time since my last entry, i dont even know where to start. Basically Ive been busy busy busy leading my linkshell and trying to work on maats cap in my extra time. since my last update i believe i have taken Mnk to 66, nin to 48 and rdm to 37. The jobs I have left are whm37 blm12 bst12 nin48 and rdm37. In a few months maats cap should be mine ^^



On top of that I have had a little bit of time to merit ranger. To my surprise, ranger kicks the shit out of anything that has two wings, or at least mine does. Heres a little taste of what I was putting out WS-wise on merit party birds.



Very recently, while trying to finish off one of our member's Apocs (congrats jork), we encountered a saotome kabuto! Now, I have not seen one of these in a million years(srsly)and i just so happen to be tier 1 on it (lol). I am now 5/5 on samurai af2! (I am also 5/5 af2 on DRG WAR DRK and PLD yeyz)



Last two things I want to cover are ZNMs and Salvage. Im still currently working on my cerberus ZNM pop. I am currently 2/3 tier 3 pops and just need 1 more tier 2 to have access to my last tier 3! Once i have those pops the linkshell will be able to help me crank them out and then Cerberus is come. Hopefully i will get nice drops... but maybe not. Here is another taste of what my ZNMs have been like!



Salvage has been pretty fun as well, I have been going with Zoii's group which consists of Alcapone, Azuza, Earl, Kiraka, Zoii, Darkindred and myself. We are generally pretty lucky on salvage but lately we havnt been able to get our hands onto any 35s... only 25s >.<;

well guys its been quite some time since my last entry. Basically I've been finishing up this semester of school and working alot so there has been little time for worrying about Live Journal. On top of that I have had to deal with tons of things with my Linkshell and that took away even more time. PLUS, im incredibly lazy. Now that I am on break, i figured now is as good of time as any to finally post once again.



Things I have been doing consist of HNMs, Exping, Killing maat and doing ZNMs. Since my last update, I have brought BRD to lv66, THF to lv66 and MNK to lv 54(as we speak i am exping and it is nearly lv 55)Just in the past 2 days I brought monk from lv33 to lv 54; im pretty stoked about that. Before i went on my epic exping rave, I fought maat on thief and bard so i could get that show on the road.



After a dry run on thief to get my barrings on what a typical maat fight would be like i ended up losing my first run. Little did i know that i forgot to cap my dagger skill... it was about 20 skill levels under capped haha. After capping my dagger skill I litterally raped maat, i didnt even need perfect dodge. The end result was 1/2 on thief maat, so i decided to try and get bard out of the way that same night. To say the least... Bard maat was incredibly easy, ended up going 1/1 on that fight. Now i am 3/15 on the maat cap fights, and 9/15 nearly 10/15 on getting jobs to at least lv 66.





Last thing on the list is my ZNMs I have been working on. Currently I am working on getting a cerberus pop so i can hopefully get lucky on some Hachiryu Haidate. basically what I have done so far is two Brass Borers and one Tier 2 Dahak. I just bought my 2nd Dahak and last Brass Borer pop, so very soon i will be able to start popping Tier 3s and get my Cerberus pop. Looking forward to this fight, it should be pretty fun.

I dont know where to start really, so i guess i will jump right in! Basically I Tank Paladin with a support job of ninja for 95% of the things i do. Since this is the case, I'm going to focus on paladin/ninja specifically for this entry. I am going to cover tons of shit, everything from macro sets, gear swaps to techniques i use to tank and not to forget merits that I current have. Lets start off with what my macro pallets look like.





Since i have so many macros (although half of them i might not even use anymore...) I have to switch between two different macro pallets. The top screenshot is of my main macro set and the second is what I have to change to while tanking something like Tiamat or Ultima for my Fire resist setup and my Magic Damage Down gear.

There are three macros that I use to a huge degree while tanking HNMs. These are the ALT 8, 9 and 0 macros. This is how i do a complete gear reset back to my idol gear. Every time i do an action that makes me switch gear I hit those 3 macros to make sure my gear swaps back to all of its Haste and Enmity gear that i Idol in.





Then there are macros that i use during the fight that swap in and out gear while performing certain actions. A good example of this is my Sentinel macro (ALT1). This simply swaps in my Valor Leggings in for when I'm going to use sentinel. These are incredibly useful feet since they increase your sentinels duration by 15 seconds and gives you a tiny boost in the amount of damage it blocks.



Next on my Main macro set is my Vorpal Blade macro (ALT 3+4). This swaps in all of my gear I used to use when i wanted to Vorpal blade.





Now that they came out with an amazing weapon skill like atonement for paladin... this makes that macro incredibly useless lol. But since i put so much time into trying to figure out how to increase my Vorpal blades, ill go ahead and show them off to you anyway.



Before i threw these two macros into the trash can because of Atonement i was able to pull off 400 damage vorpal blades on Khimaira. Buutt now that Atonement can easily get up to 600-700 damage... I think you can see why vorpal blade is pretty useless now.



The next important macro id like to show everyone is my shield skill ++++ gear (ALT6). This is important for those shitty times when you are caught without any shadows. With merits and my shield skill gear, I can manage to bring my shield skill to 318. There are a few more pieces I could buy to increase that number, but i just dont see the point.





Next on the list is a macro that i barely use at all but have in there for weird situations when I am having trouble with hate and just need a little boost. Alt7 is my Enmity macro that swaps in all of my enmity gear that i possibly have. Everything from valor breaches to Askar feet go into this one.





Off to my 2nd macro pallet where my Fire Resist gear and Magic Damage Reduction gear is found. With all of my gear equipped for damage reduction Citidel Buster usually hits for around 800 damage and i can get Jailer of Loves AGA spells (Subbing ninja) down to about 600 damage. These are the only two fights I reliably use my Magic Damage Reduction gear for. I use CTRL 1 and 2 on my second macro pallet for magic damage reduction gear macros.





On Tiamat fire resist gear is incredibly important to use while it flies in the air. This macro swap can greatly reduce the amount of damage you take with barfire and fire carol stacked ontop of it. usually tiamat hits me for around 30 damage a hit, but he still gets off a nasty one now and again for about 200 damage. My resist gear has room for improvement but im content with where it is right now. ALT 1 2 and 3 on my 2nd macro pallet is where I use my fire resist gear. By myself i get my fire resistance base to 149.





Next on the menu are the merits I have earned. I think the screenshots can speak for themselves on this one.











This turned out to be way larger than I first anticipated so I will leave my techniques for tanking until my next entry. I guess I will have to name this one Part 1 or something, haha. Thats it for now, I hope you enjoyed this entry! Until next time!

Started off my day by exping bard a little bit. I dont take the job seriously at all and just grinding the job to 66 so im done with it forever. Trying to get Maats cap and its turning out to be no easy task. The easier jobs to level seem to give me a rough time. Melee is where my heart is in this game and it always will be. Nothing like whacking huge shit with a stick until its dead. Anyway, got bard to lv 62 today heres a screenshot of me mid exp party!



After Exping bard i pretty much didnt do jack shit until we went up to sea to do a few Jailer of Faith pops. I went up an hour or so early to try and get a few extra pops. Turns out i can solo anything that is not an NM in sea on my paladin. Ill post screenshots of my paladin gear, macro sets and what I do when tanking shit in my next entry.



I decided to try to fight Jailer of Faith straight tanking style today. Turned out pretty well to say the least. Only died once and that was on the last pop, got caught by a Quake II with both my my utsusemi timers down. It was generally pretty easy to do... All you have to watch out for is Slowga as far as tanking is concerned. If the White mages dont get an erase and haste off on you fast enough your Utsusemi timers get pretty fucked eventually. The easiest time to straight tank Jailer of Faith is definitely while it is manafonting. This is because it uses big magic like Stone IV or Quake II that generally take a long time for him to cast. Our tank party setup consisted of 1 whitemage, 2 bards, 1 redmage and 2 tanks. Unfortunately it ended up with me solo tanking each one of them for some reason. Overall the fight really isnt that hard to straight tank, im not too sure why we kited it for all this time. Fights took about 10 minutes each and we did about 5 of them over the course of 2 hours. 15 minute repops + running to the new location is suck.



We went 1/5 tonight on Faith torque. Congratulations to Professional on tonights drop, hopefully we see some more soon!



After sea we tried to go to nyzul Isle but King Vinegarroon decided to pop and delay our plans. We were tipped off that it was up unclaimed, sent someone out to go check... and what do ya know! its up! Soooo I rushed out there on drk/nin to kite it until we were ready to zerg it. I personally think i did an amazing Kiting job considering the circumstances in the beginning.
when I got out there I claimed right away because i was afraid it would depop soon. little did I know it would take 5 minutes for some form of gravity to show up. I had to use stun to slow it down and get shadows up quickly, it was incredibly fun to say the least. Zerged him down when we were ready in about 20 seconds. Very smooth fight.



After King Vinegarroon I went straight to Nyzul Isle for some fun. We went 1/4 on floor 80 drops tonight. Congratulations to Malphas on Goliard Body. This seems to be pretty stingy as far as drop rates go. I wish it would pick up a little bit haha, we are yet to see any Askar :|





Overall, pretty busy night. Tomorrow is another day, Dynamis and shit to worry about yayz. Thats all i got for tonight, good night guys and i hope you look forward to my next entry where i will talk about my paladin from head to toe!

So we went to Einherjar a bit early today. We usually enter by 10pm because of constraints due to me working late on Saturdays. Since we didnt go last saturday we went at 8pm today. Only 22 people showed up and we did a tier 2 regardless. Ended up we timed out at 12% of the boss. Kind of bummed out about that, but ill get over it. If only we could get a few more people to attend Einherjar days we could win consistently and pump out a few Odins.



We ended up killing king behemoth tonight, nicely claimed by us ^_^. It was a bit messy but we slayed this fucker in about 15 minutes flat. Something that sucked about this KB was that i wasnt able to connect my slug shots and a few of my ranged attacks. Im going to have to tweek my rangers gear so i can perform well on each HNM. This is the first time ive fought King Behemoth with my ranger, and ive only been a ranger for about 2 weeks now. I will give myself some slack now but hopefully i will learn as i play the job more.



Heres my rangers gear. I focus on ranged accuracy for the most part on my Tp gear and switch Aqua gorget and a flame ring in for my WS. Im not sure at the moment what i need to do but ill figure it out pretty quickly. heres some screenshots:

im not too amazing at ranger right now, but i still have ALOT to learn. I only know the basics right now and know a few of the gear choices i need to use. Hopefully as time goes on i will learn more and become a better ranger. I am currently working on Annihilator as we speak and by the time it is finished i will hopefully have the gear it takes to be a leet ranger. Only a few peices to really go as far as i know. Scouts belt and Legs... as well as the Beaduex (S) BCNM helm. On top of that I still need to find the time to get a Faith torque... All in good time i geuss.

Well basically what I would like to achieve through this live journal is to give people an idea of what i do in Final Fantasy XI. Also im going to track what i do in game, how i play the game and explore ways to improve myself as a player. Hopefully this will help those who read it a chance to improve upon themselves or allow me to receive comments to better myself. Also a main focus will be to entertain those who read my Live Journal ^_^.



This one wont be very long but i plan to get longer and more in depth once i get more time to work on an entry. Right now was not exactly the best time to start typing one out considering its almost 2;00am est and id like to get some quality TV time in before i sleep. Not to mention i have class in the morning at 9:00am all the way until around 9:00pm est tomorrow. ANYWAY... on to XI stuff. I geuss since this entry wont be very long, ill stretch out what i have to show through screenshots by explaining who I am (that should make for an appropriate first entry!).



I am currently the player Euphoria on the server Lakshmi (I gotta look up the spelling of this server name lol i think i have it right). I lead a very well known linkshell named Vicious. We mainly do things like Ground HNMs (Fafnir/Nidhogg, Behemoth/King Behemoth , Adamantoise/Aspidichelone, Cerberus , Khimaira, Tiamat etc) as well as Dynamis, Limbus, Salvage, side things like Bv2 and Ouryu, as well as Nyzul isle, Einherjar, Sky and Sea. We are very well rounded and try to get everything done. My linkshell comes from two places. Half of us are from the server Alexander, the other half is from Kujata. Also now that we have been on the server for a while, we have picked up a few Lakshmi natives along the way, as well as a few server transfers from different places. So when you read my LJ you will mainly see things from Linkshell events, but what id also like to do is show you what i do while im not heavily camping HNMs and/or slaying large beasts.
